Garage door service in Los Angeles, from rollers to remotes

Garage door service for the part that's giving you trouble, from a door hanging crooked to a remote that quit. We check the whole door before we price anything, springs to opener.

The estimate is free and there's no charge to come and look. Nights and weekends cost the same as a weekday.

Open 24 hours, 7 days. A person answers the phone.

Off the track or hanging crooked

A door usually jumps its track after it hits something, or after a cable lets go on one side. Don't run the opener again. A door that's half out of its track can come the rest of the way down.

We stop the door moving, free the rollers and reseat the cables, then find out why it jumped. If a track is bent or a bracket has worked loose, we show you and price it before we touch it.

Cables, rollers and hinges

A frayed cable or a cracked roller is usually why a door shakes and bangs. Small parts, replaced on the spot.

Each cable is fixed at a bottom corner of the door and winds onto a drum on the spring shaft. When one frays, that side lifts late and the door goes up crooked. Rollers wear flat and start to grind in the track. Hinges crack around their screw holes, more often on heavy doors.

Near the beach, salt air rusts cables and hinges faster than inland, so they're the first thing we check on a garage door repair in Redondo Beach.

Dented or cracked panels

A damaged bottom section can often be replaced on its own. When the whole door is the better buy, you get both prices.

One section works when the same section is still made in your door's design and color. On an older door it often isn't, and a section that doesn't match shows from the street. We check before you decide.

Remotes, keypads and codes

A new remote programmed, a keypad on the jamb, the car button paired, and old codes cleared so a lost remote stops working.

If the remote stopped but the wall button still works, the door is probably fine. Try a new battery first. If that doesn't do it, have every remote in the house ready when we come, so each one gets paired and tested.

Roll-up and sectional doors on small buildings

Overhead doors on shops, workshops and small warehouses, roll-up or sectional, repaired or replaced. The rules are the ones we keep at a house: the price in writing first, and the door tested with you before we go.

How a repair visit runs

  1. We check the whole door before we price anything, springs to opener.
  2. You get the price in writing before any work, with the repair option first.
  3. If something else turns up once the door is open, we stop and ask.
  4. We make the repair, balance the door and test the safety reverse.
  5. Before we leave, every way in is tested by whoever is home.

Why one repair costs more than another

Which part failed
A roller or a hinge is a small part. A snapped cable can take a drum with it, and a door that came off its track may need a track section too.
Whether it's on the truck
The springs, cables, rollers and hinges most doors need are on the truck. If we need to order a part, we tell you the price and the day first.
The door itself
A heavy wood door or an extra-wide one takes heavier hardware than a single steel door.
What else turns up
If the rollers on the other side are worn as well, we tell you, and you decide whether they go now or later.

After the repair

Every repair carries 1 year on parts and labor, and it's printed on your receipt. If something we fixed fails, call the same number and we come back. The old parts leave with us.

Questions about garage door repair

How long does a repair take?

Usually one visit. The common parts are on the truck, and anything that has to be ordered gets a price and a day before we order it.

The door is loud. Is that a repair?

Often it's worn rollers or dry hinges, which are small parts. A bang as it closes usually means the door is out of balance, and it should be balanced before it wears out the spring or the opener.
